Weihnachtsmarkt 2024: Week 4

Yup. Just one this week. We went out in a cold rain to the

Landshuter Christkindlmarkt (city, on-going)

and it was pretty much the same as 2022, with the addition of a new Weihnachtspyramid:

(If you are wondering, no, we were not worried about a car-ramming attack, because it’s in a parking lot surrounded by a parking lot with no markings. Visitors built their own “rows”. No one is getting through that, not even with a rented SUV. Heh.)

All the usual stuff. We had some white Glühwein and some bratwurst, which are a different length and girth in Niederbayern, for some reason (no picture; my hands were cold and covered in mustard).

There was a nice program of traditional music played on Alphorn, which you recognize as a symbol of Switzerland but were also used in the Bavarian and Tirolian Alps. The More You Know.

I could have hung out longer to watch the people, but the cold rain became increasingly unpleasant, so after two rounds we left. Maybe next year will be better.
