Only 123 movies in 2025, down from 183 in 2024 (the high was 207 in 2022). We subscribed to two new streaming services that offered TV shows I actually wanted to see, and that’s where my screen time went. Mr Radish has canceled the one I was watching the most, so I expect to see more films in 2026.
I am teasing all of these charts out of LibreOffice with formulas I am creating myself. “Why don’t you let AI do it, Radish?” Because I don’t want to, thanks for asking. I like thinking through what I want to learn about my data, and then figuring out how to accomplish that.
As usual, I will start with the low-hanging fruit.
Movies by Decade
Once again, I am disappointed in myself, although it looks a bit better than 2023.

All the American movies from 1929 hit the public domain, and I still haven’t seen most of them yet.

And a pie chart, because I like pie charts.

Movies by Runtime
New category of analysis this year, because I feel like I love historic epics but I don’t watch them enough.

Not really a surprise, I think most commercially successful movies are between 90 and 120 minutes, especially from the 1980s and 1990s. Unfortunately, the chart doesn’t show which films I thought should have been shorter.

Have I mentioned I like pie charts?
