Home alone all week and yet I got nothing accomplished (besides enjoying the sweep of Boston). Sigh.

How does a human being look at this image and think, “I’m sure people can’t wait to buy jersey printed with hideously-deformed cats, let’s order a whole print run”?

Landkreis Freising has set up a series of organ concerts to celebrate the 275th anniversary of the death of Johann Sebastian Bach, so I took the opportunity to hear the organ at the church down the street. I don’t know enough about either Bach or organ to evaluate the performance, but the organist literally pulled out all the stops and gave us the full range of the pipes. Some sounded like flutes, some like bassoons, some like bagpipes, and some made my whole chest cavity vibrate. I enjoyed the music washing over me in such a beautiful setting (with narrow hard pews, lol).

On Memorial Day, which is a normal Monday here and I always find that weird, I drove out to the middle of nowhere in the Hallertau to leave a flag at the memorial for three US Airmen murdered by Nazis in 1944 after bailing out of their bomber. You can find the whole story in the May movie post, please scroll down. It’s just off a single-lane farm track, with trees and a bench. DO NOT TRUST THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IN MR RADISH’S CAR. It took me out onto a forest access road, but an elderly man on an antique bicycle saw me, stopped, and after hearing my accent knew exactly what I was looking for. I figure by suppertime everyone in Sillertshausen (population approximately 80) knew an Ami came out and got herself lost in the forest. Lol.
