Terror for Supper: Spiderbraten with Shrunken Heads

Kicking off Halloween week with a very special Meatball Monday!

OK, these balls may technically be considered meat loaves due to their size, but they are, as you can see, round. And terrifying.

I was inspired by photos from German cooking portal ChefKoch. The actual recipe looks a bit flavorless, so I ignored it and used a standard American meatloaf recipe (your grandmother’s fave will be perfect for this project). The spider’s compound eye is made of olives, the legs are some local thin sausages, and the ketchup turns it into the stuff of nightmares.

Pleased to eat you!

For extra fun, pair the dish with oven-roasted Shrunken Heads. A little olive oil, a little salt, voila! You can find them at any farmers market in your region.

“Whoa, hey! What are you doing? Hey, stop it! Hey, you’re messing up my hair!”
