The Current Thing™ Post-Surgery Short Report

Sorry for the delay in filing this report; I’ve been kind of tired.

Everything went according to plan on Wednesday–I had to lie in a hallway all hopped-up on feel-good pills for about an hour, but a crazy Ami laughing and waving at everyone who walks by like a toddler in a supermarket cart was Not My Problem. *grin* Anyway, no complications, no surprises. I was released the next day. I spent Thursday and Friday napping, and today (Saturday) I’m just hanging out.

My next appointment is Tuesday, July 22.

FYI, there were no private rooms, no custom meals, no meals on demand–everyone gets their bread and cold cuts at the same time–no towels, no soap, and if you want television or internet you pay the front desk for it. (I had downloaded a bunch of movies, because I refuse to pay for television and internet, and didn’t watch any of them because I couldn’t keep my eyes open.)

This is a double-portion of supper; there was a mistake in the kitchen.
I was hungry, though, and ate the whole thing.

There was also no air-conditioning, as Germans believe it is “unhealthy” to sleep comfortably instead of lying in a pool of your own sweat all night. It could have been really awful, but I got lucky and 1) the weather was cool and rainy and 2) the woman I was sharing the room with enjoyed the fresh air (many Germans believe that a breeze coming through an open window will make them sick). We left the window open all night. I enjoyed the view.

I may also have mooned the entire city, because when am I going to get a chance like that again?

Could be some more stories later, but it’s time for my next nap.
