Stitching

Patchwork: FFS

Before The Incident, I was experimenting with visible seam allowances and a patchwork alphabet in paper-pieced half-inch hexagons. This led to a quilt inspired by The First Lockdown; I finished the top in the end of April…and then it sat for a few months. Tiny stitching by hand was still too painful in when I tried in October; I tried again last month and it was okay. My fingers still don’t work right and I can only work for short periods of time, but I have finally finished The 2020 Quilt. FFS.

The 2020 Quilt.

“But it’s not finished until it has a label!”

The edge is finished with a binding method I call SHOFS (See! Hexagons On the Flip Side!) because nobody has told me I can’t. When I learned this method three years, ago, I didn’t realize how much it requires bending the fingers on your non-dominant hand…

The 2020 Quilt measures approximately 14-3/4″ by 6-1/2″ and can be yours for 75€ plus actual shipping costs. It is hand-stitched, machine-quilted, and may contain cat hair. Leave a comment with a valid e-mail address if interested!
