Freisinger Rathaus, November 2020

Either the Rathaus is missing an umlaut, or this is a Bavarian shibboleth. Of course I’m not going to ask–that will give me away!

I’ve had the camera along the past two afternoons but the pictures are terrible. Both days we’ve had the eternal Freising near-freezing fog; sun can be out in both Munich (upstream) and Landshut (downstream) but there’s a swampy area (Moos) south of town that keeps us dark and damp. Was kann man machen.

The highlight of my day is the US Embassy calling Pumpkin Pie “Pie” instead of using the German word “Kuchen” (cake). PIE IST KEIN KUCHEN. This is the hill I will die on.

I wrote a cheery post and turkey recipe over at Dances With Bratwurst.
