Food - Handy Fotos Der Woche

Week in Photos 102

Sorry it’s late again this week; my FIL had a birthday over the weekend with multiple celebrations, including a family Krustenbraten meal at my kitchen table, which necessitated taking down the laptop (and its stupid giant external plastic keyboard) for a few days. The food was great and we had a nice time, so it’s all good.

Enjoying going on some walks before it gets too hot and miserable. One afternoon I went out to the Weltwald for a “real camera” photowalk that I was going to post about, but the “real photos” were awful. Took a picnic. I should do that more often.

St Clemens, a village church decommissioned in 1893. The Weltwald was planted around it.
Just outside of this photo is a woman who biked up, sat down, and immediately made a video call, shouting in a language I didn’t understand, for the full half-hour I needed to eat my picnic and take some photos of the graveyard. Yay.

I don’t know what this is, but it was interesting.

I’m thinking of starting a social media account devoted to “trash of the streets of Freising”.
But I can’t get deported until FUZZ moves on to his next adventure.

Rublitorte, carrot cake.
There’s marzipan under the hard chocolate.
I did not make this 🙂

Krustenbraten in progress.
It’s Strohschwein, which just means the pigs are grown in big open pens with lots of straw to eat and sleep and play in.
The meat has better marbling than pigs grown in stalls. We like it.
There’s no “after” photo because my kitchen was full of people who think blogging is not important, and they were all giving me different instructions for slicing the meat and making the sauce and serving it up to them.
