The Freisinger Riviera Series

I have been taking a Bad Handy Photo™ from the same place every time I take a walk in the woods.

2022

This started as a Twitter project, but my impressions there are going down nearly as low as the impressions of this blog, so I thought, “Why not do both?” (Devoted readers will recognize the phrase “Freisinger Riviera” from this very depressive photo post from the Eternal Lockdown.)

Please imagine a bunch of trite gallery signage word salad here: An informal study of timeless impermanence, the meaning of place in a cyber world, a body of work documenting personal rituals marking the passage of time, blah blah blah.

I know it would be more impressive as Kunstaktion if each picture was taken every Tuesday at 1:43 p.m., but I stumbled into it kind of randomly, and–more importantly–I don’t want all the stress and strain of a standing public appointment. I don’t want people complaining when a photo is late or missing, I don’t want to feel shame when I’m too sick to go out in the damp, I want to feel free to go to the library on a Tuesday instead of having to be out in the woods.

I hope it’s still fun to look at.
