Free Hugs + Karl der Kaktus

I’ve been cruising through the box of UFOs. I’m pretty sure I stole this idea from a child’s T-shirt. I was never happy with my French Knots before my accident, but now after months of rehab I’m still not happy with my French Knots. 😉 There are two more cacti in the box.

Karl here is one of those pincushions that were trendy when I still lived in Indiana, but I never got around to making one until now. I followed the directions from a Swiss blog; if you don’t Deutsch you can probably figure it out from the illustrations.

I can’t actually use him as a pincushion because I stuffed him too hard (with bits of quilt batting leftover from other projects–I’m not a “hoarder”, I’m “thrifty”) but he’s all he needs to be as he is.

I’m going to make another one, just to get Mr Radish all riled up about the plural of Kaktus, which was changed in the spelling reform of 1996 without his permission. 😀
