In other regions, there are red variations, flavored with paprika or tomato.  This is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sugarsaltmagic.com\/weeknight-meatball-stroganoff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sugarsaltmagic.com\/weeknight-meatball-stroganoff\/\">modern Australian red version<\/a> with paprika. The salt and umami come from soy sauce, instead of Worcestershire sauce&#8211;I put a few dashes of W&#8217;sauce in the balls because I am untrusting and suspicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-610\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream3.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream3-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>We&#8217;re ready for our close-up, Radish&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This week I learned that an <a href=\"https:\/\/recipeland.com\/how-to\/australian-cooking-measurements-142\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/recipeland.com\/how-to\/australian-cooking-measurements-142\">Australian tablespoon<\/a> is 20mL. North American and European tablespoons are 15mL. When I scribbled the recipe on paper I wrote &#8220;4 tsp&#8221; instead of &#8220;one TBSP&#8221; and that worked well. I didn&#8217;t bother to buy separate ground beef and ground pork for a 50-50 ratio; I got the usual &#8220;mixed&#8221;. And I don&#8217;t know what &#8220;swiss mushrooms&#8221; are, so I used the fabulous Bavarian brown mushrooms that I use in everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-608\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/PaprikaSourCream2-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Before the sour cream<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We ate these meatballs with <em>Dinkelnudeln<\/em>. You may know <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thespruceeats.com\/definitions-for-spelt-dinkel-and-gruenkern-1446450\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thespruceeats.com\/definitions-for-spelt-dinkel-and-gruenkern-1446450\">Dinkel<\/a><\/em> as spelt or farro; it&#8217;s an old-fashioned grain that&#8217;s popular in Germany these days because it&#8217;s seen as healthier than wheat. These noodles  are not a low-carb option (67g of carbohydrate per 100g), but according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thespruceeats.com\/definitions-for-spelt-dinkel-and-gruenkern-1446450\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thespruceeats.com\/definitions-for-spelt-dinkel-and-gruenkern-1446450\">St Hildegard<\/a> <em>Dinkel<\/em> &#8220;creates good humor and joy in the human mind.&#8221; I also receive joy from meatballs.
