Before The Incident<\/a>, I was experimenting with visible seam allowances<\/a> and a patchwork alphabet<\/a> in paper-pieced half-inch hexagons. This led to a quilt inspired by The First Lockdown; I finished the top in the end of April…and then it sat for a few months. Tiny stitching by hand was still too painful in when I tried in October; I tried again last month and it was okay. My fingers still don’t work right and I can only work for short periods of time, but I have finally finished The 2020 Quilt<\/strong>. FFS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The edge is finished with a binding method I call SHOFS<\/a> (See! Hexagons On the Flip Side!) because nobody has told me I can’t. When I learned this method three years, ago, I didn’t realize how much it requires bending the fingers on your non-dominant hand…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
