Every year, I like to pick up a couple of Ufo-K\u00fcrbis because I like the name, which they earned because they are shaped like classic 1950s flying saucers. (There’s a French name<\/a> you can use if you have no sense of humor.) I have fun with them.

But as much as I love looking at them, eventually they need to be eaten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The white ones have white flesh, fairly firm and without a strong pumpkin\/squash taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once they were hollowed out, I cooked up a filling of ground beef, onion, tomato, and pizza spices. This is one of the first recipes I ever saved and made from Chefkoch.de<\/a>, and I think it was designed for smaller pumpkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that’s an easy fix–just quintuple the amount of cheese (which I added halfway through baking, so it wouldn’t burn).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
