I am still finding un- and half-finished bottle-cap quiltets<\/a> while looking for other things. Last week I sat down for a few hours and finished off three, while I thought about my 2024 project list and binge-watched episodes of Dahoam is Dahoam<\/a><\/em> from 2008. (I am pleased to report that my comprehension of the Bavarian language has increased from approximately 30% to approximately 33%. At ten episodes a week, it will take me seven years to catch up to yesterday’s episode.)<\/p>\n\n\n

I’m happy to see the Triple XXX Root Beer<\/a> still exists; the cap came into my collection from a former colleague a long time ago, and around that time I made this quiltet. When I re-learned shisha embroidery in 2019, I ripped out the old bad stitches and replaced them. Unfortunately, that caused some damage to the fabric in the petals.<\/p>\n\n\n

So I edged the petals in sequins, being careful to avoid covering up my beautiful chain stitch.<\/p>\n\n\n

The frame around the edge isn’t doing it for me anymore, so I tried out a new formation from an embroidery book from the library.<\/p>\n\n\n

Next: A Sam Adams Octoberfest cap. I believe the origin of this one is more recent, perhaps 2021 when I made these<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The 3-D five-point flower sequins are completely new to my collection, my folks brought them over for me last October. They are my favorite thing until the next time I get to make meatballs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

OK, I know I said the sequin frame on the edge wasn’t my thing anymore, but I couldn’t find a way to bling up this 2010 cupcake (are cupcakes still a thing?) without distracting from the motif. Respect the classics.<\/p>\n\n\n
