Either the Rathaus is missing an umlaut, or this is a Bavarian shibboleth. Of course I’m not going to ask–that will give me away!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve had the camera along the past two afternoons but the pictures are terrible. Both days we’ve had the eternal Freising near-freezing fog; sun can be out in both Munich (upstream) and Landshut (downstream) but there’s a swampy area (Moos<\/em>) south of town that keeps us dark and damp. Was kann man machen<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of my day is the US Embassy calling Pumpkin Pie “Pie” instead of using the German word “Kuchen” (cake). PIE IST KEIN KUCHEN<\/em><\/strong>. This is the hill I will die on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
