Some other minor obligation-laden end-of-November holiday distracts me. Not this year! As the November lockdown-light stretches into the eternal lockdown, I got nothin&#8217; better to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/409vg4n6gg021.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-106\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/409vg4n6gg021.jpg 960w, https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/409vg4n6gg021-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radishthegreat.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/409vg4n6gg021-768x384.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image stolen off the internets<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gazpacho soup&#8211;spiced tomato juice with some other vegetable matter thrown in, served cold in a bowl&#8211;it sounds posh but it&#8217;s just an Old World mocktail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.de\/johnnichols73\/bloody-mary-mania\/\">Bloody Mary<\/a>. Garnish it with peppers, olives, bread, pork, seafood&#8230;I recommend the vodka garnish with a beer chaser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is Gazpacho Soup Day special? The soup is served warm, in honor of Arnold J. Rimmer, smeghead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Happy Gazpacho Soup Day\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/511VL3VEvQM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">They called me Arnold&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If only the officers at the captain&#8217;s table had known there are regional and seasonal variations, some of which are served warm!  As I am <s>lazy<\/s> efficient, I printed out the first search result for <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.allrecipes.com\/recipe\/94935\/winter-gazpacho\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;warm gazpacho&#8221;<\/a> that contained bacon.  I opted to substitute two tetrapaks of diced tomatoes for the whole tomatoes, because <s>I am lazy<\/s> November tomatoes, am I right? (Oh, how I hate food blogs.)  At the market the veggie vendor gave us a free tiny carrot. What am I supposed to do with one tiny carrot? If we&#8217;re still locked down in January all filters are off!!
